Step 1 - PrepRemove all impact protectors. Undo all zippers, Velcro and buckles. Shake off any surface dirt and use a soft brush if required.

Step 2 - Which Detergent?Use a purpose-made tech-wash, or alternatively a neutral unscented liquid detergent, woolen liquid detergent, or baby shampoo. Completely avoid granular powder detergents or any heavily scented liquid detergents.

Step 3 - SoakDissolve one cap of detergent per garment in a bucket of lukewarm water and soak for at least 30 minutes. Avoid hot water—if it feels too hot for your fingers, it’s too hot for the gear.

Step 4 - Wash and RinseAgitate and scrub with your hands, focusing on greasy and grimy areas. Repeat until clean. Rinse multiple times until all detergent is removed. Avoid hard abrasive brushes; use a soft brush only if required.

Step 5 - Let Dry and StoreHang and allow the garment to dry in a cool, ventilated, shaded area. Once dry, store it in a cool, moisture-free place away from house dust. Do not wring, tumble dry, iron, bleach, or expose the gear to direct sunlight while drying.
